Booking terms

How booking works

Simple, friendly terms so you know exactly what to expect.

Your Okanagan boating concierge

Coldstream Water Sports does lots of things on the water around the Okanagan, and our job is to connect you with the best boat, in the best spot, for the day you have in mind. We always hope it's one of our own boats. If we can't accommodate you, we'll find someone who can: one of our trusted local rental partners who will take great care of you.

Whichever boat you're matched with, the rental operator provides the boat, their rental agreement and waiver, and is your main contact on the day. We're always here if you need anything.

Your booking deposit

  • Your booking deposit confirms your reservation and our concierge service.
  • Booking deposits are non-refundable.
  • Booking deposits are never refunded, but they're never lost. If you can't make your day because of bad weather, illness or anything else, let us know and we'll turn your deposit into a gift card for a future rental.
  • Boat breakdown? If a mechanical breakdown of the boat means you can't go out, we'll add an extra $100 to your gift card for the trouble.
  • Gift cards have no expiry date and can be used on any boat, later this season or whenever you come back. They have no cash value.
  • If these terms don't suit you, that's completely fine. We'd rather be clear up front, so please don't book.

At pickup

  • Bring a credit card. We don't charge these amounts; the rental operator collects the rental balance and taxes, and places a security deposit hold on your credit card. On Kal Lake the hold is $1,000 for a pontoon, $1,200 for a Sea-Doo and $2,000 for a surf boat; on Okanagan Lake the operator confirms the amount when we confirm your booking.
  • When you return, the cost of the fuel you used is taken from the hold and the rest is released to your card. The hold also covers any damage under the operator's rental agreement.
  • You'll sign the operator's rental agreement and waiver. Safety, equipment, damage and rental terms are between you and the operator.
  • Weather and safety calls on the day are made by the operator.
